Vacation

Went to bed at 5, woke up at 2, lay in bed and read for an hour and a half, ate two pieces of rugelach and a glass of soy milk, talked on the phone for half an hour with an ex-coworker thinking of jumping ship to join my company, and now it's twilight and time to blog.

I guess I'll jump on the bandwagon and boycott Amazon due to their "extensive Republican contributions," though when I go to BuyBlue.org it says they've taken down their list "because we think credibility is important as well as legal defensibility." BuyBlue is run by ex-Kossaks so I trust them implicitly, but I am so disappointed in AMZN: I had been hoping to use them as our wedding registry and thus divert 4% of our guests' funds for charity by means of the I Do foundation. Fie on that!

No, I haven't been writing any novel. I have been fighting the urge to shop online for a capelet. I don't really want one. I know I don't. I just think the word is cool. Argh! Still trying so hard to be less of a consumer and more of a producer. Spending time in Manhattan makes that hard, because I am weak. Thank goodness for Brooklyn. If there was a single street in our neighborhood with all the chain yuppiness of Upper West Side Broadway, my struggle wd be for naught.
