friday i'm in red
A stressful week, with lots of undone work left over.Still managed to go to iyengar yoga twice, eat like a king, etc. A midweek visit to Time Warner Center at Columbus Center was a near-religious experience. Out of the darkness and rain, rising up like a mirage in the desert: a shopping mall in the middle of Manhattan! Glitzy and spacious like Pacific Place, but with - miracle of miracles - a Whole Foods in the basement (and a Borders a few floors up with a Dean and Deluca cafe). Hadn't realized how much I missed my Seattle grocery stores (Larry's, Thriftway) till then. Bought a pound of vegan Indian food and ate it curled up on a bar stool while reading Calvino's Italian Folktales. Pristine spick-n-span brand name yuppie paradise!
Recommended for me by A.: incredible concept sci-fi text adventure All Things Devours (I explored all the floors and then did the walkthrough because I'm not patient enough to do time travel arithmetic) and hilarious Sting of the Wasp (where you basically get to be the Jessica Walters character from Arrested Development - this one I mostly did on my own, with a few hnts).
I really like the idea of a red v-neck wedding dress: 1, 2, 3.
