I went down to the N train platform and noticed that people were looking at the tracks, where a rat was chewing at the tail of a dead rat. The tail looked about two-thirds gone. What was left was a frayed stump. As the tracks started to rumble with the sound of a train coming in, the rat dragged the dead rat under a piling, so that only the dull head and paws of the dead rat, and the long glossy dark tail of the living cannibal rat, stuck out from underneath, creating the optical illusion of a superlong zombie rat.Then the doors of the train opened and I stepped in and sat down and re-applied my lip balm.
