My view

Its a good view. The ceilings in our apartment are twelve feet high, but my room is only about as wide across as I am tall, so it's a funny narrow window that I have. When I'm lying down I see a long strip of sky and the tops of the trees, and if I hook my feet around the rails at the end of the bed and do a situp, through the crazy summer mass of leaves, I can just make out the brownstones facing me from across the street. Best not to look down into the triple-parked street, where a car might be speeding by setting off alarms, or a dog pissing into the roots of a tree, or trash might be piled up at a dozen spots on the curb. Even a good sunny day the sky has a milky or tan quality to it - the sky around these parts has about the same range of colors might find in an oyster shell...
