Saw fireflies in Prospect Park last night - ugly bastards when "off", magical LEDs when "on"

as well as Cat Power, Mark Kozelek, and Will Oldham - close to a dream lineup for me - at a Neil Young tribute concert in the park. Neil Young turns out to be the missing link in my musical tastes, I guess...

It has been a busy weekend but I've sent A. off to a party by himself tonight and I am vegging here at home with no plans but to nap.

There is a brand-new tremendous, partially -mantled, air conditioner on the floor of the living room and we have taped bubble wrap over the freshly prepared hole in our window. All that remains is to scrounge an appropriately sized piece of wood somewhere that we can balance the new AC on, as our windows are fragile.

Where does one buy wood, anyway? A hardware store?

I like to sit by my laptop and code compulsively while others around me are watching TV, hence Dressing Ezra.

According to the Bush campaign, Kerry = Hitler. (I should read the Herald Tribune more often, it was the newspaper of my youth....)

as for the wood, go ask the pintchik oracle, miranda. there are lightning bugs also in central park, always a shock of nature. & which songs did will sing on? i was there but did not ID him.
